The Presidential Security Group (PSG) celebrated its 123rd foundation anniversary on June 23 with the theme, “Building Resiliency, Sustaining Transformation, Towards a World-class AFP!”
According to the PSG, as COVID-19 remains ruthless, they are anticipating the prolonged existence of the virus and the presence of various security threats by building resilience in order to sustain its fight against all forms of threats.
At the onset of 2021, the PSG said they braved the vaccine controversy and stood up to their mandate to protect the President at all costs.
PSG has embarked on its journey to sustain and upgrade its capabilities in acquiring top-of-the-line equipment, high-tech assets, state-of-the-art facilities, training here and abroad, the best manpower, and morale and welfare development, they said.
They added that they have transformed into “a formidable force by institutionalizing the competencies of all its organic units that can readily respond to any contingency.”
Aligned with the AFP’s (Armed Forces of the Philippines) vision to become a source of national pride by 2028, PSG has completed its institutionalization stage and successfully passed the AFP Transformation Roadmap Institutionalization Pathway (AFPTRIP) process last month.
PSG’s workforce is composed of operationally-controlled units coming from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Metro Manila Development Authority, and Philippine Coast Guard. Their performances in the past year resulted in zero incidents and zero accidents, indicating 100% success in all their security operations. – jlo
