LIST: Phases, sectors under A4 vaccination

The Philippines began vaccinating priority group A4 on Monday (June 7), which the economic sector welcomed as another means to ensure the safe reopening of the economy. 

Based on the implementing guidelines shared by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the A4 vaccination will be conducted in phases.

The following workers are considered under A4 vaccination Phases 1 and 2: 

Phase 1: A4 workers in National Capital Region (NCR)+ 8 (Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao) :

  •     A4.1 – Private sector workers who work outside their homes
  •     A4.2 – Employees in government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs) and local government units
  •     A4.3 Informal sector workers and self-employed who work outside their homes and those working in private households

Phase 2: A4 workers outside NCR+8

  •     A4.1 – Private sector workers who work outside their homes
  •     A4.2 – Employees in government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs) and local government units
  •     A4.3 – Informal sector workers and self-employed who work outside their homes and those working in private households

The government said essential workers within the 40 to 49 years old age group will be prioritized in case of limited supply of vaccines, followed by those 18 to 38 years old.

The following criteria for the workers to be vaccinated are:

  •     Individuals who are physically reporting to the workplace; or
  •     Individuals who are currently deployed or assigned to perform field work.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez said vaccinating essential workers will help the government achieve the targeted 500,000 jabs per day. – jlo
