PH to receive about 100 million COVID-19 vaccines by October

The Philippines is expecting to reach more or less 100 million doses delivered by October, National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 chief implementer and vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. said during the Talk To The People last Monday (Sept. 20).

“Mr. President, by the end of October, we will reach more or less 100 million doses delivery to the Philippines. So by October po, mayroon na po tayong mga 100 million po na doses na darating po,” Galvez said.

“The Philippines is expected to receive another more than 20 million more doses before the end of September and maybe on the first week, including the first week of October,” he added.

According to Galvez, the country now has a steady supply of Sinovac, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Moderna.

Galvez said they are now renegotiating with the Russian Direct Investment Fund for the Sputnik Light, a one-dose vaccine.

The Philippines has currently received almost 65 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with 52 million already deployed to different areas.

And then mayroon pa po tayong inaasahan na darating na more or less 25 million na arrival this coming September at October,” he added. –PG – bny
