The Philippines passport is ranked as 75th in the “most powerful” passport in the recently released 2023 Henley Passport Index.
Filipinos currently have visa-free access to 67 destinations, including Southeast Asian countries.
The country’s passport shares the same spot with Uganda.
Japan is the most powerful passport in the world with visa-free/visa-on-arrival access to 193 destinations.
Coming in at second are Singapore and South Korea, with 192 destinations.
Germany and Spain hold the third spot. Finland, Italy, and Luxembourg are ranked 4th.
Completing the top 5 are Austria, Denmark, Netherlands, and Sweden (5th); France, Ireland, Portugal, and United Kingdom (6th); Belgium, Czech Republic, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, and United States (7th); Australia, Canada, Greece, and Malta (8th); Hungary and Poland (9th); and Lithuania and Slovakia (10th).
Meanwhile, Afghanistan is the least powerful passport, with only 27 destinations.
The Henley Passport Index is the ranking of all the world’s passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa.
The recent index included 199 passports and 227 travel destinations.
