OCTA: Negative growth rates suggest peak in cases in NCR has happened

Dr. Guido David of OCTA on Saturday (Sept. 18) in a Twitter post said the one-week growth rates in the NCR were negative for the past few days.

He said the negative growth rates “strongly suggest that cases may have already peaked in the NCR.”

“The NCR had negative one-week growth rates for the past few days. When the growth rates are consistently negative, this is usually a sign that the peak in daily cases has been reached,” David said.

“Again, trends may still reverse, so we need to sustain our efforts so that these gains will not be lost,” he added.

Meanwhile, the local government unit with the highest number of new cases in the country is Quezon City with a total of 1,141 cases.

Following Quezon City are Pasig City (552), Metro Manila (551), Taguig City (410), and Davao City (387). – Report from Mark Fetalco/PG – jlo
