Two days before the Feast of the Black Nazarene, devotees continued to flock to Quirino Grandstand and Quiapo Church for the inaugural “Walk of Faith.”

The traditional procession, held after the midnight mass on Jan. 8, will start at the Quirino Grandstand and will end in Quiapo Church.

It, however, will proceed without the image of the Black Nazarene.

Meanwhile, devotees also lined up for “Pagpupugay” or the viewing and touching of the image of the Black Nazarene at midnight on Jan. 8 at the Quirino Grandstand.

It replaced the traditional “Pahalik” or the kissing of the image of the Black Nazarene.

The annual “Traslacion” is still suspended for the third straight year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Millions of Catholic faithfuls are expected to participate in the Feast of the Black Nazarene activities, according to the Manila Police District.
