Customers turn to buying frozen eggs as an alternative to the rising price of regular eggs.

Frozen eggs are reportedly being sold at P55 to P60 per kilo in markets while a tray of medium-sized eggs cost P270.

Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture (DA) reminded customers to be vigilant when buying frozen eggs.

The DA said if a frozen egg came directly from the farm, then it is safe to consume.

However, frozen eggs from cracked eggshells are prone to contamination. Report from Clay Pardilla
