ECQ aid distribution continues in Manila

The simultaneous distribution of cash assistance is ongoing in the City of Manila in line with the implementation of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus Bubble.

Manila is the first local government to hand over the assistance from the national government to qualified beneficiaries, with the initial distribution to beneficiaries taking place on April 6.

Manila was granted ₱1.5 billion which will be distributed in cash.

An estimated 28,000 ECQ-affected residents initially received the cash aid in seven barangays of the city on Tuesday. More families are expected to be granted up to ₱4,000 each as the distribution continues.

Set to receive their shares from the new set of assistance today are around 1,600 individual beneficiaries at the Barangay 154 covered court alone.

The list of beneficiaries is posted on the social media pages of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Manila Public Information Office in accordance with the guidelines of the national government to ensure transparency. — Report from Patrick de Jesus/AG-jlo
