DOH: Over 9K COVID-19 cases from May 29-June 4

A total of 9,107 additional COVID-19 cases were reported from May 29 to June 4, the Department of Health (DOH) reported Monday.

As of June 4, total active case count is at 13,808.

Average daily case count is down from last week by 22% to 1,301.

The DOH said 77 of the new cases are severe and critical, while 10 deaths were verified including three that occurred from May 22.

Currently, there are 559 COVID-19 patients admitted in hospitals, with 397(18.9%) of the total 2,099 intensive care units (ICU) occupied and 4,101 (23.0%) of the 17,848 non-ICU COVID-19 beds in use.

The DOH called on the public to continue complying with the minimum public health standards under Alert Level 1. AG – gb
