The number of reported fatalities due to Tropical Depression Agaton rose to 167 as of Saturday morning, April 16, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
Based on the latest NDRRMC figures, at least 562,548 families or 1,939,514 individuals in Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and Bangsamoro have been affected.
Meanwhile, 100 individuals have been reported injured, and eight were missing.
As for infrastructure damages, 9,700 houses were partially destroyed and 664 were completely shattered. The damage to agriculture covering 7,376 hectares of crops was estimated at P242,239,927.
NDRRMC also reported that 192 cities and municipalities have declared class suspension and 139 have suspended work.
President Rodrigo Duterte on Good Friday, April 15, visited the victims of Tropical Depression Agaton and vowed to provide emergency food and shelter assistance.-ngs
