Bulusan Volcano had a 17-minute long phreatic explosion Sunday morning, June 5.

State volcanologists said the volcano’s plumes reached up to 15 meters high, which blanketed homes and streets in the towns of Juban and Irosin in Sorsogon.

Phivolcs placed Mount Bulusan under Alert Level 1, indicating a low level of unrest.

The agency likewise warned the public against entering the four-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) and the Extended Danger Zone (EDZ).
